Feeling Adventurous

Last week we took the girls in for their 8 week appointment. I used this as the perfect excuse to put bows on their little heads. Chris rolled his eyes and told me it was a little much for a doctor's appointment. Ha! What does he know???
It's a little chaotic getting the girls in their car seats and into the car. They do great once in the car, but seriously. Can you blame them? Those car seats have to be hot!!
Waiting for the doctor.

Dad with his girly girl.
Now for their final stats:
Caroline now weighs 9 lbs. 4 ounces - holy cow!
Carleigh now weighs 8 lbs. 11 ounces
These weights seems so big to us! But then the doctor told us they are only in the 5th percentile. I told him no worries, what they lack in weight, they make up for in spunk!

All in all, we had a great check up and we all survived their shots. I hate taking them to get their shots. Seeing their sweet chunky thighs get poked hurts me too!!

The rest of the weekend was actually really good around here! We had planned on just laying low Friday night (this is quite an accomplishment for us because we are normally always on the go). But, my parents called last minute and asked if Carson could spend the night with them. Chris and I agreed he could (like THAT was a hard decision!) and I met them to drop him off. He was thrilled to go with them and quickly said "Bye bye Momma, see you tomorrow." when he left. Such a big boy. When did he get so big?

Chris and I took advantage of not having a toddler around and we slept pretty much all day Saturday. I didn't realize how tired I was until I slowed down long enough to sleep. I know I sound like a broken record, but we are so blessed by my parents. They gave us a date night Thursday night, kept Carson on Friday night, and are coming over tonight because mom made Chris and I secret date night reservations. No, we don't know what we are doing. My mom is fun like that and always had surprises for us. Seriously, I am blessed beyond belief.

Back to the weekend....
Sunday we were feeling brave and decided to take all 3 kids to church. We expected insane craziness, but it was actually pretty easy. Probably because I was up at 5 AM feeding the girls, putting them back to bed again, pumping, showering, dressing myself, eating breakfast, dressing Carson, packing diaper bags, dressing the girls, drinking coffee, etc. Where was Chris you ask? Asleep on the couch. Yep, asleep on the couch. We had made a plan the night before. He clearly didn't stick to the plan. Uggh. We'll have to work on that....

Nonetheless, I did get a few pictures of our first Sunday at church. The pictures surely didn't turn out quite like I had imagined in my head. Bummer.
Here are the girls bloomers. Funny story: we went to my parent's house Saturday night to pick up Carson. I asked mom if she had a set of plain boomers for the girls to wear to church on Sunday. Yes, I have plain ones, but they can't wear them. Why mom? Because, they will not go to church with plain bloomers! They must be monogrammed! Give me a minute, I will run upstairs and monogram a pair. She's for real, y'all! She ran upstairs and made these:
These actually ended up being a great thing because this way the nursery caregivers knew who was who.
Here are the girls, ready to go!
Carleigh Kay
Caroline Elizabeth
After church I tried to get a shot of Carson with his sisters. We only got a picture of him with Carleigh. I quickly realized this was not a good idea. Hey, at least I tried.
(btw: a huge thank you to sweet Ashley for the most precious smocked dresses and hair bows!)

See? We CAN do it! We can get out of the house with 3 kids under the age of 2! Now what will be our next adventure???

Claire has that same smocked dress. I love it! I've actually noticed a couple of things the twins have worn in pictures that Claire has. Maybe we need to dress them all up and get some pictures on Tuesday. Can't wait to see you guys!

So proud of you girl!! Going to church with a crew that size/age is all about organization! I remember doing as much as I could to get ready the night before. All clothes ironed, accessories beside each outfit (bows, shoes, etc), diaper bags all packed, even lunch all ready to go in the crockpot!! Made the morning so much easier and smooth sailing! I would get up early and get myself ready, nurse the baby and Robin would get everyone dressed while I finished dressing. Always worked great!!!
