Things that make me crazy

Below is a list, in no particular order, of things that make me go crazy (but in a good way):

#1 - Six kids, all under the age of 4, in my house.
Yes, you read that right. SIX kids under the age of four. This really needs to explanation of why it would drive me crazy, but I will humor you with the details. One of my best friends, Sarah, drove through Houston and stopped to stay with us. She had 3 kids - 2 boys and a girl. Her baby girl, Claire, is just 11 days older than the twins. Her son, Cooper, is just a few months older than Carson. And Tyler, her oldest, tried to keep the younger two boys in line. They get to my house around 2:00 PM. By 2:15 PM Carson's room looked liked this.
Notice Carson and Cooper in the toy chest? They had a little too much fun.

Sarah and I literally sat back and laughed at the chaos of the house.

The boys played so hard that they seriously stank bad! We lured them into the tub with popsicles. My bathroom floor was soaking wet, but not because of Sarah's children. It was Carson who caused all the splashing.

Finally, it was bed time. Because we are such crazy, *ahem* fabulous, moms we thought we would let all 3 boys sleep in the same room. It took us at least 30 minutes to get them to even lie down. Don't know how much good the previous bath did, because the boys were drenched with sweat before we turned out the lights. They jumped on the mattress on the floor until they almost passed out.

Finally, all 3 down for a story. Farm Animals. How exciting.
Meanwhile, the girls hung out in their room. I must say that the noise level in this room was much more pleasant!
Despite the craziness, it really was a fabulous visit from Sarah and her boys. I loved seeing her and talking "mommy" things together. I miss her tons!

#2 - My dad's shed.
This might seem random, but let me explain. My dad only gets about 10 days off all year long. He looks forward to this all year long. You would think he would do something relaxing and restful. Not my dad. Instead, he spent almost his entire vacation time building a shed onto the back of their garage. What he is going to store in there, no one knows. Why it morphed into a major project, no one knows. It was supposed to just be a little shed. Now it had windows, a roof, and flooring. He talks about this shed ALL the time. Good grief! We will all be happy when the shed is finished. The building of the shed makes me crazy!

#3 - A Bunch of Fun Play Place
Have you ever heard of this place? Let me just say that it drives me crazy! Granted, Carson loved it, but I don't know how it will stay open for long. It looks like this inside:
The concept? Kids can run to different "rooms" in the play place and explore.
The problem? Each play place has toys which contain very small parts. Again, Carson loved it. He loved playing in all the areas. But he also loved throwing things over the banister to the large area below. All the other kids loved doing this too. It doesn't look like this from the picture, but there were toys everywhere. Crayons and markers are left out for the kids to color with. Great idea, but not one of the kids up there colored on the provided paper. Instead, they colored on the walls. For real.
And see this picture below?
It's a HUGE sand box with purple play sand in it. Two words; HUGE MESS. And see all the buckets behind the sand box? They are filled with more sand to replace the sand that all the kids throw out. I mean, there is sand all over this place! There is nothing separating this area from any of the other areas, so you can guess what Carson's white socks looked like when we left. They were purple.
Here is Carson playing in the "kitchen" room of the play place. See the empty table? Just moments before it was filled with 3 sweet little girls playing sweetly. Then Carson came along, took all their food off the table and threw it over the banister. I saw this happening and ran to rescue the little girls from my boy and Carson definitely didn't understand what he did wrong. I told him he had to apologize to the girls and then go pick up the food he threw. So he put on my sunglasses, which he stole from my purse, and went downstairs...
Instead of picking up the food he threw, he found a hammer from the "construction" area and brought it back to the "kitchen". See what I mean? Toys were misplaced everywhere!!

Again, I must repeat, he had a great time and cried when we left. But this place makes me crazy!

And finally, something that does not make me crazy; these sweet things!
I love these little outfits on them! Chris got home from work and gave me the "what are they wearing?!" look. Sorry babe, the girly outfits have only just begun!
And just to prove my point; here are 2 new sets of outfits my mom made and brought over this week! Ugh! So stinkin' cute!
The girls are really starting to smile and coo lately. I love this time when they start responding to us. It makes all the hard work worth it, just to see them smile. I told Chris last night that they are sweet enough to almost make me want another one! Okay, now I really AM CRAZY!

It was CRAZY, but it was fun! I'm so glad you got a pic of the girls together, because I somehow managed to leave without getting a picture of them.

Your dad should have called Robin to help with the shed!!! Course that may have taken away all the "fun" your dad was having!!
Carson sounds like a typical boy at the "creative" play area! Boys love to ruin a girl's tea party!!
And tell Mimi the outfits are precious! Those baby girls are going to be decked out all the time!! So sweet!!
